SKI SEASON HAS COME

Ski season has come. Generally speaking, it lasts about 3 months and a half in Korea. It begins at last part of November every year and ends in the middle of March next year. The peak month of the season is February. It snows heavily during February in general. But it depends on the weather of typical year. There are time many ski resorts that experience almost no snowfall or minimum snowfall during winter if weather is not favorable. If such is the case, ski resorts makes man made snows to cover the main slopes. This season is considered gorgeous, for heavier snowfalls than any other year is forecasted by the weather bureau.
Most ski resorts are located around the mountainous country, east of Seoul, the capital city of Korea. So it is very desirable to come to Seoul if you are going to enjoy skiing, snowboarding or climbing on the white slopes of the resorts or deep snow of the mountains like Mt. Sulak.

2.Muju Resort - Located uniquely far soutnern part of the Korean Peninsula - 30 slopes including the longest slope silkroad(6.2km). There are 8 lifts.(tel:0657-322-9000)

4.Bogwang Phoenix Park - considerably close to Seoul, 12 slopes, 10 lifts(tel:02-527-9541)

5.Sajo Ma-ul Blue Valley - located at south eastern hills of Chungbuk Province, about 2 and a half hours distance from Seoul, 8 slopes, 3 lifts. There is a hot spring near the ski center. (tel:02-3444-9965)

6.Alps Resort - located at northern corner of the mountainous country. You can enjoy deepest snowfalls if the weather is favorable. 8 slopes, 5 lifts.(tel:02-756-5481)

7.Yangji Pine resort - located considerably near to Seoul, 7 slopes, 6 lifts.(tel:02-542-8700)

8.Yongpyung Resort - about 4 or 5 hours distance by car from Seoul. The biggest ski area. 18 slopes, 15 lifts. The area is considered one of the heaviest snowfall district.(tel:02-2270-6622)

9.Jisan Forest Resort - very close to Seoul. Free shuttle bus service. 10 slopes, 4 lifts(tel:02-3442-0322)
